Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Felms in the Narsis Arena about Ragamul gro-Shak.
2. Optionally:
   1. Talk to Othys Varel.
   2. Meet with Nalis Doronil at Doronil Manor in the Old Quarter.
   3. (Optional) Inform Ragamul gro-Shak that Nalis Doronil asked you to kill him
3. Meet Ragamul gro-Shak in the arena and either:
   • Defeat him without killing him.
   • (If you spoke to Nalis) Kill Ragamul during the fight, or after taunting him into attack.
4. Return to Felms (rewards 0 or 1,000 gold, Arena Gold Scale).
5. (If you spoke to Nalis and killed Ragamul) Return to Nalis (rewards 4,000 gold).

Detailed Walkthrough

The fight to earn your Golden Scale will be with Ragamul gro-Shak. There's a complication to this one however, as Felms notes that a mer named Othys Varel wants to speak to you before this match goes ahead.

You don't have to speak to Othys - just talking to Felms again about Ragamul will see him set up the fight as normal. If you wish to however, you can find him in the audience stands of the arena's pit. He'll direct you to his employer, Nalis Doronil. Nalis lives in Doronil Manor, just down the steps from the Eight-Bones Temple. Speak to Nalis and he'll reveal that he wants your opponent dead for shaming his house. He promises to protect you from consequences provided that you leave room for doubt as to whether or not you intentionally killed Ragamul.

Whether you speak with Nalis or not however, speak to Felms to get the fight set up, and then proceed upwards into the pit. Ragamul is a heavily armored Orc who wields an axe. Either defeat him as usual, or follow through on Nalis' orders and kill him before a victor can be declared. You can alternatively taunt Ragamul after the fight has ended (but before he has left the pit), and that will allow you to kill him without facing censure.

Return to Felms once the fight has concluded. He will give you 1,000 gold (or 0 if you killed Ragamul) and the Arena Gold Scale as a reward. If you spoke to Nalis and killed Ragamul, return to him also for 4,000 gold.

The Rules

Your aim is to reduce your opponent's health to 20% or under without killing him. If he succeeds in doing this to you, you lose, and will need to spend three rounds fighting beasts before being permitted to enter a rematch against Ragamul. Leave the pit while the fight is active, and it will be forfeited. Kill your opponent in battle and you will usually be expelled from the arena, although this fight is the exception if you heard out Nalis Doronil first.
