Biricca Bank, where an employee has been skimming gold from the vaults

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Speak to Ereven Baryl about orders. He will tell you he wants you to investigate a bank robbery.
  2. Head to Briricca Bank per his directions.
  3. Speak to Ronus Yridius on entering the bank about bank robbery.
  4. Question the rest of the staff in the building. (The smoothest order is Ronus Yridius, downstairs to Narelinde, back upstairs to the second floor to Jeric Selvand, then Tashira at the end.)
  5. Tell Tashira she has a lot of evidence against her, get confession.
  6. Tell Ereven Baryl back in Heron Hall about the bank robbery, choose either Narelinde or Tashira to jail. Receive Expensive Robe, Expensive Amulet, Expensive Ring. Extravagant Hat.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Asking Ereven Baryl for further orders after the last quest will have him prompt you to investigate a bank robbery in town at Briricca Bank, a couple doors down from Heron Hall. Apparently an employee has been "skimming a little off the top" of the bank's vaults, and has been found out. But the bank employees/investigators can't figure our who it is, so the Legion has to step in.

Make your way over to Briricca Bank as per the Commander's instructions: Exit through the front doors to the courtyard, exit the courtyard, turn left, and the bank is 2 doors down.

On entering the bank, you'll be facing Ronus Yridius. Ask him about the bank robbery. He'll state that he and Tashira are the only ones who have access to client accounts and who are allowed into the vault. Narelinde is the one with the key to the vault.

Head downstairs (Left from the front desk, around the wall) to speak to Narelinde. She'll state that she is responsible for opening and closing the vaults for the bankers, and she's noted Tashira visiting the vault a lot more than she should be.

Head back upstairs to the second floor and speak to Jeric Selvand. He'll note that yes, Ronus and Tashira are the ones who work directly with clients and go in and out of the vaults, but Ronus usually works with the smaller clients while Tashira usually works with the bigger clients. And he'll also note that, It would be much easier to hide missing sums in larger accounts, don't you think? 2 marks against Tashira.

Heading upstairs to speak to Tashira, she is quick to cast any blame onto Naralinde, since she has the vault keys. However, there is evidence against Tashira, which you can tell her that the evidence is strong against her, and she'll confess to stealing the money. Of course it's behind the guise of a principle of it "being for a good cause". You have your felon, go back to Ereven Baryl.

Now you have two choices for who to turn in. There is technically "evidence" against Naralinde via Tashira blaming her for just controlling the key, which isn't really solid evidence. But you can choose to turn her in anyway, and Ereven Baryl will say:

It was the vault guard, was it? That makes sense. She has access to the vault. Not much family or wealth. Simple means, simple motive. It's a shame that the Empire's institutions can't find trustworthy hands these days. I'll arrange for one of ours to take up the duty. You've done well, <Imperial Legion Rank>. You can take these -- the Bririccas sent them along as thanks for taking this case so quickly, but I confess I don't have a taste for the fashions of Nibenay. Perhaps they'll suit you better. And he'll reward you with Expensive Robe, Expensive Amulet, Expensive Ring. Extravagant Hat.

If you choose to turn in Tashira, he will say:

It was the account manager, was it? That makes sense. She got access to the vault and then made up records so nobody would notice. It's a shame that the Empire's institutions can't find trustworthy hands these days. I'll arrange for one of ours to collect the evidence in her office.

10Ereven Baryl ordered me to investigate a bank robbery at the Briricca Private Bank in Narsis. The bank is located two doors down from Heron Hall, if I pass through the main gate and turn left. He told me to question the suspects in the bank to see who they think committed the thefts.
30Ronus Yridius explained that the thief allegedly took small amounts from the vault on a regular basis, and then falsified records in order to disguise these thefts. He testified that he and Tashira are the primary account managers, but that Narelinde has access to the vault.
40Jeric Selvand testified that Tashira is the manager for all the largest account holders in the bank, among whose accounts it would be much easier to disguise small withdrawals.
50Tashira testified that Narelinde has easy access to the vault, and that the accounts weren't falsified: they were not checked as rigorously as they should have been.
60Narelinde testified that Tashira accesses the vault far more frequently than she needs to for her role.
70Narelinde protested innocence when I told her there was evidence against her.
80Tashira admitted to stealing from the bank, but claimed that it was for a noble cause.
90I've spoken to all the suspects.
