Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Dilvam in the Narsis Catacombs: Gateway about Dilvam and ancestral cuirass.
2. (Optional) Consult Sathayn Hlaalu in the Chamber of Narsara for directions (requires 70+ disposition).
3. Retrieve the Thirvayn Ancestral Cuirass from Catacombs: Depths.
4. Bring the cuirass to Dilvam.
5. Travel to Omaynis and speak to Meryn Sarano.

Detailed Walkthrough

You'll find Dilvam in the Catacombs: Gateway (accessible from the Foreign Quarter). He has recently had a vision in which his family name was revealed to him, and he seeks to prove the vision true by finding a cuirass that appeared in that vision, bearing the symbol of the Thirvayn family. He'll ask if you can locate the cuirass within the catacombs, and suggests getting directions from representatives of the Temple.

If asked, Temple members within the Catacombs will direct you to Sathayn Hlaalu, the keeper of records. You can find him in the Chamber of Narsara, within the Gallery of our Forefathers. This area can be accessed by entering the Steps of Reverence from the Gateway area, and then moving through this to the Gallery. Sathayn himself requires 70+ disposition before he opens up, but will direct you to search for the cuirass in the Catacomb: Depths. These are accessible through the Catacombs: Crossroads area (which you can reach from the Gallery).

Once in the Depths, you'll find the cuirass in one of the eastern rooms. It's in the first chamber that you would reach if you were walking from the entrance to the Janus Burial area. Pick it up and bring it to Dilvam. He has nothing to give to you, but will direct you to the priest who raised him. If you visit this Meryn Sarano in Omaynis, then you will be rewarded for the help you gave to Dilvam.

Notes

• If Meryn has been killed prior to bringing the cuirass to Dilvam, your only reward will be 7 gold from Dilvam's pockets.

15		In the Narsis Catacombs, I agreed to help a dunmer [sic] named Dilvam find the ancestral cuirass of the Thirvayn family, to which he believes he belongs. He does not know the cuirass' precise location, but he suggested that the Temple's officials in the Catacombs might be able to provide me with more information.
50		Sathayn Hlaalu gave me directions to find the altar to the Thirvayn family in the Narsis Catacombs. He said to go down through the Crossroads and into the Depths. There I must go left at the first T-junction, pass under a ruined bridge, and then go right at the next T-junction. From there I will find the altar in the first chamber I come to, on my left.
100		I brouht [sic] Dilvam the Thirvayn ancestral cuirass, and it confirmed his belief that he is of the Thirvayn family. He couldn't offer me anything as thanks, but he suggested I speak to Meryn Sarano in Omaynis for a reward.
