Skyrim talk:Staff Enchanter

Added a short description[edit]
Gave a link to the Staves page and to Tel Mithryn. This should probably be linked up using the Trail feature, but I don't know how the coding on that works. --Morrolan (talk) 13:17, 27 January 2013 (GMT)
- Added a trail, and linked to enchanting, cause it is and it isn't. I couldn't think of anything else to add like the Arcane Enchaters and Alchemy Labs. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 13:30, 27 January 2013 (GMT)
Skill XP[edit]
The Staff Enchanter is related to the Enchanting skill. Creating staves builds skill XP for Enchanting. Both this article and Skyrim:Enchanting need to be updated. --76.29.252.136 02:21, 3 September 2013 (GMT)
Could do with details of Staff Enchanter Base/RefID[edit]
I'm not experienced in edits, but the following information regarding the Staff Enchanter's BaseId along with Neloth's Staff Enchanter's RefId should probably be added;
RefId: xx0177d9
BaseId: xx017736

Myrwatch Staff Enchanter bug[edit]
A bug I encountered a long while back when working on a mobile enchanting system for my magic mod that is present in the Myrwatch CC causes the staff enchanter there to multiply xp gained from it by 20. This is because the Dragonborn DLC has a hidden perk (DLC2StaffEnchantingMult) that it uses to reduce staff enchanter xp gains by 95%, but the perk's conditions check against the EditorID of the DLC's staff enchanter; the Myrwatch staff enchanter has a different model and thus uses a different EditorID and as a result is not affected by the perk, resulting in a massive increase in xp gained. I've updated this page to include mention of this. -SkylerModder (talk) 19:56, 11 January 2020 (GMT)
- This isn't limited to the one in Myrwatch. Neloth's enchanter has the same problem: https://afktrack.afkmods.com/index.php?a=issues&i=20398 Arthmoor (talk) 20:45, 12 January 2020 (GMT)
- I tested this on the latest version of special edition with no mods installed except creation club content. The staff xp was normal for neloth's enchanter, while the myrwatch enchanter made me jump several levels, making leveling fast. Not sure if its a original edition skyrim thing or a change brought by USLEEP (which that guy in your link mentioned he had installed) brought a change to neloth's enchanter but its a normal experience rate for me when I use that one.Zebendal (talk) 04:05, 13 January 2020 (GMT)
- A bit of further investigation shows that Neloth's enchanter will be fine because you'll have the perk given to you by the time you get there. Stage 100 of DLC2Init sets it. Prior to that though, a staff enchanter using the same base object as Neloth's will give the OP amount of experience. Since the game as shipped by Betheada doesn't have any aside from his it's not technically a bug in the game. Arthmoor (talk) 09:04, 13 January 2020 (GMT)
