Bloodthorn

Bloodthorn is a steel dagger found upon a sacrificial altar atop Hag's End in the grasp of a dead witch. Its enchantment soul traps a target if the target dies within three seconds after being hit, as well as draining health from the injured party for ten points. Tempering Bloodthorn requires one steel ingot as well as the Arcane Blacksmith perk, with the improvements being twice as good with the Steel Smithing perk.

Notes

• The Absorb Health part of the enchantment is not referred to in the weapon's enchantment description. The only clues (beyond using it and finding out that way) are the name of the weapon and the red glow of the enchantment itself (red, which indicates health absorbing properties).
• Bloodthorn may sometimes be found sticking out of the chest of the dead witch, instead of being in her hand.
• It's possible to obtain the weapon without going through Hag's End: climb up the rock wall by the waterfall near the door to the ruin, then up onto the flat area with the chest, the quicksilver ore vein, and Predator's Grace. Proceed along the right part of the cliff, and rock climb until you are able to jump down near the rocks on the highest part of the ruin. From here, you can skirt around the support arch (which the boss chest for Hag's End is up against) and get Bloodthorn on the altar. If you have unlocked one or more words of Whirlwind Sprint, you can use that as soon as you are up on the plateau to reach the weapon.
