Dahrk Mezalf, also known as Mezalf Bthungthumz, was a prominent Dwemer smith and scholar. He worked under the leadership of the renowned Dwemer inventor Kagrenac, alongside other notable figures such as Bthuand Mzahnch. He was also known for his proficiency in frost magic.[1][2][3]
It was theorized that he hailed from the Dwemer village of Bthungthumz. Along with Bthuand Mzahnch and other notable tonal architects, Mezalf worked under Kagrenac's leadership in the creation of the legendary tools of Kagrenac, which were used in the infamous experiment that caused the disappearance of the Dwemer race in the First Era.
Little is known of his fate, but almost all the Dwemer mysteriously disappeared in 1E 700.[4] Dahrk Mezalf was one of those Dwemer who stayed behind as a Dwarven Spectre,[2] indicating that he might have died prior to the fateful day of Dwemer disappearance.
Long after his demise, in 3E 427, Baladas Demnevanni, one of the councilors of House Telvanni, instructed a member of Mouth rank to delve into the depths of Bthungthumz, an ancient Dwemer ruin situated in the Ashlands region. The purpose of this endeavor was to acquire one of the summoning rings of Dahrk Mezalf. A representative of House Telvanni made a successful journey to the ruin and came across the spectre of Dahrk Mezalf. They were able to defeat him and obtain the ring for Baladas.[1][3][5]
