Steve Meister is a programmer, designer, and producer at Bethesda Game Studios. He joined the R&D Group for Zenimax Media in the Summer of 1999 before working as a programmer for Morrowind starting in Spring 2001.[1] Since then, Meister has been credited on Oblivion and Skyrim. Steve is responsible for the Scourge easter egg in Morrowind, being showcased in the "Industrial Magic & Light" developer blog (listed below) and as his The Elder Scrolls Forums avatar[3] before ultimately having the Argonian end up as a unique miscellaneous item. Outside of The Elder Scrolls, Meister was the Lead Programmer for Fallout 3 and served as a Gameplay Programmer on subsequent Bethesda titles, with credits as recent as Starfield.[4] In the past, he would occasionally visit the IRC channel, #elderscrolls on Chatspike. Steve is married to fellow longtime Bethesda employee, Christiane Meister.[5]
