Welcome![edit]
Hello Likelolwhat! Welcome to UESPWiki! It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Help Contents: a list of in-depth Help pages
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! -Skyrimplayer (talk) 03:02, 10 December 2013 (GMT)

I apologise for calling your edit vandalism. It was not, and I am fully aware. I chose the wrong edit summary from the menu. :/ --Nocte|Chat|Look 04:39, 17 February 2014 (GMT)

RE: Poisoning Weapons[edit]
I just wanted to extend a word of gratitude for all your help. The promptness and thoroughness of your responses are greatly appreciated. I also want to point out that your apparent eagerness to help is just awesome. Regardless of how all of it will fit into articles (or even if it won't), just know that your effort has, at the very least, helped me. Thanks again. --Draagyn (talk) 16:46, 19 February 2014 (GMT)

Skyshards[edit]
Just so you know, all the skyshards and their clues for Auridon were on the UESP online map already. I added them all. Jeancey (talk) 04:30, 21 March 2014 (GMT)
- Oh, thanks! I'm going to see about adding them to the map on Auridon's page, if I can wrangle the rest of this code. I'm mostly done, got distracted with other Internet-y things. EDIT: For clarity, and to say I'm done for now. If I notice any more missing markers I guess I'll have to manually add it in then change all the numbers one by one... Again... likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 05:45, 21 March 2014 (GMT)
Aspect ratio for NPCs[edit]
Hi!
Thanks for looking at my edits! I cropped the File:SR-quest-Olda.jpg to 1:1 as per the image guidelines for NPCs. Should I change it to 4:3?--Beezer1029 (talk) 13:08, 30 April 2014 (GMT)
- Hi, thanks for asking. The problem is that while it is an image of an NPC, it goes on a quest page, therefore it should be 4:3 (like the other one). Typically, the filename (quest) and where it goes are the best indicators of aspect ratio. Also quest images are always named after their related quest, so the other one would become SR-quest-Dragon's Breath Mead 01.jpg and the one of Olda would be SR-quest-Dragon's Breath Mead 02.jpg. Or vice versa. likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 18:56, 30 April 2014 (GMT)
- Ok, I can change them both up. Thanks!--Beezer1029 (talk) 19:09, 30 April 2014 (GMT)
Images[edit]
Hi, thanks for the image of Honeystrand Cave, could you please give me a chance to place them on the place pages. I really appreciate the image and if there are others that you could provide that would be hugely helpful as I have a number of requests. Could you please let me know whether it helped having the image requests organised by hold. Thanks again. Biffa (talk) 07:51, 27 June 2014 (GMT)
- You're welcome Biffa. I'll be looking through the list here in a second to see if there's any I can pop in and do quick; and I won't put them on the place article from now on. You can do that. :) The organization is fine; it helps to be able to find places close by wherever I am in-game so I don't have to go out of my way. likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 05:02, 28 June 2014 (GMT)

Talos Shrine Massacre[edit]
I've uploaded a new version quite a while ago, but I noticed there's still a thumb for it on your 'Naturalistic' page. I've done the same to one of Quill-Tail's images he had on his userpage, and he then tried to use a thumb of his previous version, but was unable to pull that off. I don't know if it's possible. In any case, I'm just letting you know in case you'd want to remove the thumb ~ Dwarfmp (talk) 06:38, 17 January 2015 (GMT)

Images on the same line as text?[edit]
Forgive me if this seems like a simple question. I can't find an answer that accurately defines what I'm looking for.
So I'm trying to create a few achievement pages, because there are like none whatsoever. I was going to create them as I acquire them. I just want to know how to put the achievement icon/thumbnail on the same line as text.
My thoughts were to have '(achievement name) is an achievement in Elder Scrolls Online', followed by a second line with the actual in-game description, and then the achievement icon would span both of these lines. Then a few more bits of info further down like points, titles/dyes, and an exact description of what criteria need to be met to get that achievement... not in that exact order.
Thank you! Raddok (talk) 19:14, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- You may want to take a look at Help:Images#Adding Images to Pages. But I actually don't think we would need a page for every achievement, maybe just the ones that are hard to come by and really need explaination. -- SarthesArai Talk 19:58, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Looking for some mentoring![edit]
Hi Likelolwhat! I saw you listed as a possible mentor - I had noticed that even now, very few of the quests in the new Wrothgar DLC area existed in the wiki (the side quests, anyway) so I've been setting about gathering information as I play through on my second character. I wanted to then try and add to the wiki, but don't want to mess it up! So far I have added the quest names to the Wrothgar zone page, and tried creating one quest (Wrecked). Did I do it correctly? It looked OK via preview, but I might well be missing some important subtleties. I'll probably keep trying to get some information in the other quests I collected thus far.
Some more specific questions, if you know -
Is there a "blank" quest page somewhere that has all the sections/headers/etc. that ought to exist that I can copy and edit, or am I better off making something like that for myself by copying the code from an existing page?
Do you have any idea how to determine if the XP on quests is standard or what? My characters are all Vet level at this point. I'm using FTC and Loot Drop addons; sometimes I see XP scroll by and others not, and the two never agree with each other. FTC will say it's 30000 xp and Loot Drop will say 8k or something. Is it safe to base it off the gold reward? (most of the time its 332 gold, but if its 664 gold was that a 'hard' quest?)
Edit - I figured out how to create an item link using the ID numbers from the database and the Item Link template, but is there a way to correct if the information isn't right? For the Wrecked quest, the Bookseller's Ink-Stained Trousers light pants are coming up at V6 as 899 armor (with a 24% sturdy trait) and +358 max magica; however in game this is 1095 armor with the Sturdy trait and +615 max magicka at V6.
Thanks for any guidance you can provide!
Anghara (talk) 20:30, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Anghara! Yes, the wiki can be rather slow adding sidequests for new DLC, because it depends entirely on whether the people dedicated to adding new material (a) have the DLC (let alone ESO itself), (b) have the time to play through + fill in the code, and (c) don't have other reasons for not playing the DLC (I, for example, want to finish Cadwell's Gold on my main before getting too deep into Wrothgar, and I'm very slow on that). As it is, we're all happy to have you, and I'm happy to help!
- As for your questions, Wrecked looks good. You've got the basic info in down pat (type, giver, desc, etc.). The template with descriptions of each parameter is here, but not all of the parameters are used for your basic quest, so you can certainly continue copying from existing pages and work off of that.
- The XP gain is tricky, and I admit I've never quite figured it out. I would say to leave it blank for now until you or I know more, or even until someone else can fill it in. This is a collaborative wiki, after all.
- I wonder... I did some fiddling with the sliders for the reward. When I put it at v15: Bookseller's Ink-Stained Trousers. Those stats match. Any idea why? (It's possible the data is flawed, but I want to make sure there's no other explanation before I bug Daveh about it.)
- Thank you for helping the wiki! —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 20:02, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
-
- Maybe (just some random thoughts not backed up (yet)) it displays different stats in wrothgar because of Battle Leveling (Wrothgar levels to V15)?
-
- Additionally, we should think about how we present the quest rewards in wrothgar, as they will be scaled to whatever level you are when you are doing this quest. So while Anghara gut a V6 Bookseller's Ink-Stained Trousers, I got a V3 Bookseller's Ink-Stained Trousers, and so on... That's propably material for the Community Portal. -- SarthesArai Talk 20:28, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

-
- Ah, I see. Thank you, Sarthes. I haven't played Wrothgar yet (well, I went in there to deliver a writ, but yeah). —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 20:31, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

(←) Here's another philosophical question: the daily quests in Wrothgar. I'm inclined to include them just for the sake of completeness if nothing else - would it make sense to create a new category for them (separate from story or side quests)? And if so, separate categories for the delves vs. the world boss dailies? Anghara (talk) 02:46, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Please open up a discussion on the Community Portal about that; as far as I know it's a bit of a unique situation with those dailies and we should get something of a consensus on it. —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 02:51, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

- A suggestion for your quest rewards quandary (I don't think I saw it on CP yet); you could try using
summary=1
instead oflevel=x
, which would give you Bookseller's Ink-Stained Trousers. --Enodoc (talk) 17:54, 1 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I'm Plugs, I'm pretty new here but having fun. I've recently updated the Goblin Berserker image for elder scrolls Blades. But no matter what I do the old version of the image shows up in pages, even when I purge the page. I can't find anything in the images page on this issue, so decided to ask a mentor. RE: Hey.[edit]
Well, I am a UESP (Utah Educational Savings Plan) subreddit moderator. Its not like you can ask uesp.org to change their name because it gets confused with your wiki's.
It is my user page, I'm allowed to put what I believe is notable/relevant to me as long as it doesn't break the rules, correct? If it does break any rule, then I request you link the page where it is stated. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 23:16, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- It is still misleading (deliberately misleading, even). I am going to talk to a moderator about it. If it goes, yay, if it doesn't, that is them you are impersonating and it's their discretion. —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 23:39, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
-
- I don't see how its misleading or impersonation, given how I even hyperlinked the subject matter which I was referencing on the user page. Anyone can figure it out if they click the link, or even hover over it and see what site it directs to. Seeing the content on the linked site would be more than enough evidence to show its not impersonation. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 11:24, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
-
-
- Maybe we could come to an agreement; Would it be okay if you wrote something like "[...] and a moderator of the UESP (Utah Educational Savings Plan) subreddit." That way you can keep the information on your user page while making clear that it is not the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages-UESP. -- SarthesArai Talk 12:28, 25 December 2015 (UTC)

Userspace Patroller?[edit]
Heya Likelolwhat! Since we currently don't have any and I've seen your friendly interactions with users throughout the site, I figured that you'd be a great choice for a Userspace Patroller! (I'd recommend regular patrollership, but I honestly haven't paid attention to your regular edits :/ nothing personal, I swear!) There's no real nomination process and it could be a starting step towards being a regular Patroller if you so choose. Of course, you don't have to do any of this if you don't want to, I just figured you'd fit the role well :) •WoahBro►talk 16:40, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- Jeancey was asking me recently if I was a Userspace patroller (he was considering nominating me to be Autopatrolled, I believe), so it's funny that it should come up again. Back on topic, I would be glad to take a stab at userpatrolling. I will go and add my name to the request section now. Thanks, WoahBro. —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 05:18, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- Are you guys psychic or something? I was just thinking earlier today that it'd been a long time since we'd had anyone apply to be a userspace patroller...and only a couple of hours later, one pops up! Good job.

Place and Quest Image Aspect Ratios[edit]
Good morning! I've noticed you uploaded a new version of the image for Wiljar's Farm. This isn't about that particular image, but rather its aspect ratio. The current iteration which you've uploaded does not need to be replaced; your image is an acceptable size and far better in quality than my original upload. I just wanted to let you know that a motion was passed in the Community Portal to permit 16:9 images for any image category that requires a 4:3 aspect ratio, such as place and Quest images. I wanted to tell you for future reference, so you don't feel like you have to stick with 4:3 for place images. 4:3 is still allowed, of course, the aspect ratio requirements for these images have just been expanded to include 16:9 as an acceptable size.
