Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Ocrulun north of Sadrathim about his curse of foul stench.
2. Travel to Almas Thirr's Underworks and speak with Bazark.
   • Either:
     1. Kill Bazark and return to Ocrulun.
   • Or:
     1. Pay Bazark 200 gold.
     2. Return to Ocrulun with the Ring of Stink.
     3. Wear the ring, then defeat the Greater Bonewalker.
     4. Speak to Ocrulun.

Detailed Walkthrough

Rumors in Sadrathim may point you towards a smelly mer to the north of town. This High Elf, named Ocrulun, stands on the riverbank by the bridge north of Sadrathim. He believes that a curse of foul stench has been put upon him by a grumpy warlock in Almas Thirr. If you agree to help, he'll suggest looking in the underworks there.

Almas Thirr is a long way to the north, standing on the Thirr River. The quickest route is to take the boat from Sadrathim upriver. The warlock, named Bazark, can be found in the central part of the Underworks. Speak to him and he'll ask for 200 gold to lift the curse. You can also kill him.

If you kill the warlock, return to Ocrulun, who is now free of the curse. You have the choice of informing him of Bazark's death or of concealing it. In either case, he will reward you with 300 gold, 3x Journeyman's Lockpicks and 3x Apprentice's Lockpicks.

If you choose to pay Bazark's price, he'll give you the Ring of Stink with strict instructions not to wear it until you return to Ocrulun (if you do, the High Elf will die). Go back to Ocrulun with the ring, and then either of you must wear it. Defeat the Greater Bonewalker that appears, and then speak to Ocrulun once more to complete the quest.

I've agreed to find the warlock who cursed him and ask him to lift the curse of foul stench. The warlock is a Khajiit. Ocrulun suspects he might be hiding in the underworks of Almas Thirr.
20		Bazark is the warlock who cursed Ocrulun. He's willing to lift the curse if I pay 200 septims.
30		I paid Bazark 200 septims. He revealed that Ocrulun has been followed by his bonewalker this entire time and gave me a ring. Putting the ring on will cause the bonewalker to reveal itself and attack. Killing it will lift the curse.
40		Bazark is dead.
50	Finishes quest	Killing Bazark has lifted the curse. I did not reveal to Ocrulun that the warlock is dead. He thanked me for helping him.
60	Finishes quest	Killing Bazark has lifted the curse. I revealed to Ocrulun that the warlock is dead. He thanked me for helping him.
70		I let Ocrulun put on the ring.
80	Finishes quest	Killing the bonewalker has lifted the curse. Ocrulun thanked me for helping him.
90	Finishes quest	Ocrulun is dead.
100	Finishes quest	The bonewalker has been killed, but Ocrulun didn't survive.
