Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Ethasi Balvel in her Sailen house, and ask her about her 'background', with 60+ disposition.
   • Alternatively, speak to the Argonian, Lati-An in Duram Balvel's house in Evos (south of both Sailen and Fort Umbermoth).
2. Enter the basement of Duram Balvel's house and speak to Duram.
3. Enter the Balvel Ancestral Tomb, south of Evos, using the Balvel Ring.
4. Speak to Ervasi Balvel, in the tomb.
   • Aggressiveness (e.g. 'deal with you') will turn the residents of the tomb hostile. Defeat them for a 250 gold reward from Duram.
   • Offering to help the Balvel family will see you ordered to kill Lati-An. Ervasi will reward you with the Amulet of Rectitude for this.
   • Speaking of the love for the Tribunal will persuade Ervasi to leave the lovers be. Duram will reward you with 250 gold and a Steel Jinkblade.

Notes

In some older builds, Lati-An was Latiana, an Imperial slave. This was changed in part due to the lack of Imperial slaves elsewhere in Morrowind.

15		I met Lati-An, an Argonian slave, who told me that her friend Duram Balvel is being haunted. She has asked me to intervene. I suspect her relation to Duram is not strictly formal.
16		I met Lati-An, an Argonian slave, who told me that her friend Duram Balvel is being haunted. She asked me to intervene, but I declined.
40		Duram Balvel asked me to go to the Balvel Ancestral Tomb to put an end to the haunting. I have been given a ring that will grant me safe passage inside. The tomb is a short distance south of Evos, along the road. I am to contact the spirit of Ervasi Balvel, the family matriarch.
55		I have spoken to the ancestors of Duram Balvel and have agreed to kill Lati-An.
57	Finishes quest	Lati-An is dead.
60		I have convinced the forefathers of Duram Balvel to approve of his relationship with Lati-An.
61		The ancestors of Duram Balvel would not listen to reason. I had to resort to force to stop their harassment.
