Haliwaran

Haliwaran is a walled tower overlooking the road between Old Ebonheart and Dondril.

The tower is occupied by the necromancer, Volam Darnys, at the time of your arrival. The presence of such an individual and his undead army so close to the city of Old Ebonheart is no accident. Indeed, a letter on the top floor indicates that Volam is actually sponsored by the Imperial Legion, who, unable to openly man the outpost themselves, prefer it to be in the hands of a proxy than under the control of the decidedly martial Indoril Ilvi, who is considered relatively hostile to the Empire.

In the event that you clear the tower, Indoril soldiers headed by Llonas Neredras will claim this highly defensible location for themselves.

Notable loot includes an Orcish spear and glass arrows held behind a cell door. A key to open this vault can be found on the top shelf of a bookshelf on the highest floor, behind two small chests.
