Thetrard Bierles was a scholar who specialized in the histories of different vampire clans across Tamriel.

Background[edit]

Thetrard is the author of multiple books about different vampire clans across Morrowind and Skyrim, including but not limited to, the Quarra, the Berne, the Cronvangr, and the Volkihar. Throughout his career, he has gathered information through observation of vampiric activity, exploration of their former holdings, and on several occasions, even interviews with living vampires willing to have their clan's history recorded. Whether his subject of research should be considered disgusting or aggrandizing of Daedric influence, one cannot deny his ability to gather information on the vampiric underworld of Tamriel is unparalleled.

Thetrard's most recent research project has been focused on Aemar Coldblood, the last known owner of the Bloodfire Amulet. With the aid of a new benefactor known as Viella Carmalo, Thetrard has managed to track down Aemar and the warriors who slew him to a ruin under the plains of Whiterun Hold, known as Iceblood Barrow, with the intent of producing a book about the vampiric alchemist and how he was defeated.

The Bloodfire Amulet[edit]

Thetrard has already found a way inside the barrow before you arrived, and made it rather far into the first area. By the time you catch up to him, he will be found dead with a number of draugr and a mysterious robed woman standing over his body with one of her daggers in his back. She will disappear before you can get close, and you'll be left to search through the dead scholar's notes and belongings.
