The Valcand River is a river that flows from western Skyrim into Cyrodiil's Lake Rumare.
The river runs from Lake Ilinalta in the Kreathi Dale, past the town of Helgen, the city of Artemon, and the settlement of Morinth. It ultimately merges into a host of other waterways in the Ruma Floodlands just before reaching Lake Rumare.
Due to the shifting nature of development planning, the exact course of this river may yet change. As of the Abecean Shores release in late 2024, it is referenced only in dialogue as a trade route dominated by a Cyrodiilic trading company named North Wind Traders.
Relevant Dialogue[edit]
- "North Wind Traders is a company based in the Kingdom of Artemon which controls most river shipping between Skyrim and Cyrodiil. Unlike most large Cyrodiilic firms, which are governed by a board of directors, North Wind Traders is managed collectively by its shareholders, who may vote on company decisions based on the amount of stock held. In addition to the company's near-monopoly on Valcand and Caracota river transport, North Wind Traders profits from artisan and agriculture interests in North Colovia." - North Wind Traders topic
