Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Queen Millona Conomorus about duties and Herrius Thimistrel.
2. Speak to Sapillius Tarvetius at Fort Heath.
3. Consult with Tiledorus Cadmerius at Fort Telodrach.
4. Return to Millona.
5. Travel to Mischarstette and slay Herrius Thimistrel.
6. Report your success to Millona.

Detailed Walkthrough

Queen Millona Conomorus believes that a coup against her regency has already begun, with three important nobles having left Anvil. Beyond her known rival, Herrius Thimistrel, Millona also mentions Akaterina Hadrach of the West Navy and Lavus Siralius, a ranking officer in the Imperial Legion. Her first concern is that either of those military wings of the Empire will take a position against her, and so she wants you to speak to their commanders to gauge their position on the coup.

The nearest Legion commander is Sapillius Tarvetius at Fort Heath. To reach this location, fast travel from Anvil to Hal Sadek, and head north across the bridge. Sapillius replies a little awkwardly that he and his Legion soldiers won't be able to intervene in any coup attempt.

The Navarch of the West Navy, Tiledorus Cadmerius, can be found at Fort Telodrach in Anvil. He's in the Navarch's Tower. Speaking to him about Herrius Thimistrel will see him regretfully reply that he simply does not trust the forces he could mobilize not to join Herrius' cause. He does however let slip that movements were recently spotted in the old castle of Mischarstette, which he believes to be where Herrius and his plotters might be hiding.

Once you've had the non-committal responses of the two military leaders, return to Millona. She will order you to go to Mischarstette to take Herrius and his co-conspirators into custody, killing them if needed. Mischarstette is a fair way to the north along the coast - you may wish to follow Millona's suggestion of taking a ship to Thresvy and walking north from there. Gear up for some tough fights ahead.

Herrius' people guard the exterior of the castle as well as the interior. You'll need to fight your way through the Keep of the Shore Kings and Quarantine areas and into the Royal Chambers. You'll find guards from Thimistrel's manor here, and in the next room, Herrius Thimistrel. He's not alone - and is flanked by his co-conspirators. As you approach, he will challenge you, announcing himself to be the last of the Shore-Kings. Defiant until the end, you will be forced to fight him.

You need only kill Herrius of the three. The other two (if they survive the fight) will surrender into custody upon his death. Once he is dead, return to Millona for your reward - and her boundless gratitude. Beyond a wealth of coin, she will bestow on you the title of Marshal of the Seas. It's not a position with any land attached, but does make you one of the highest ranking people in the Kingdom of Anvil.

20		Navarch Tiledorus Cadmerius said that he could not justify supporting Millona militarily. However, he did inform me that recent Navy patrols have noticed activity at Mischarstette. Tiledorus believes that this is where Herrius Thimistrel is consolidating his forces.
30		Without the support of Anvil's military leaders, Queen Millona feels that I should strike at Herrius Thimistrel immediately. She has ordered me to go to Mischarstette and bring Herrius and his co-conspirators to justice, dead or alive.
31		Queen Millona informed me that three nobles, including Herrius Thimistrel, have disappeared from Anvil. The Queen believes a coup attempt is ongoing and that the nobles have left for Mischarstette to start it. She has ordered me to go there immediately and bring Herrius and his co-conspirators to justice, dead or alive.
40		With Herrius Thimistrel dead, his co-conspirators have surrendered.
45		Herrius Thimistrel and his co-conspirators are dead.
100	Finishes quest	For preventing Herrius Thimistrel's coup, Queen Millona awarded me with the Helm of Bendu Olo, 5000 gold, and the title of Marshal of the Seas.
