Fortyd Barrow

Fortyd Barrow is a remote tomb in the hinterland of the Strident Coast.

It can be difficult to find. Leaving Brina Cross via its western entrance and heading south on reaching Felcius Farm on your right will take you past the entrance. Alternatively, start at the ruined tower of Eumaeus and walk northeast until you see Ansedeus, a goblin cave. The barrow entrance is directly to the east of this.

The barrow features in two separate quests - being the recommended source of the soul of a Minotaur Barrowguard in Soul for Baeralorn, while also being the location that Herrius Thimistrel sends you to in Destabilization. Herrius actually remembers a time when the settlement of Fortyd stood near the barrow, remarking that it was well known for its fine smithing. This settlement was perhaps the source of the Alessian Bronze Tower Shield which he sends you to obtain - this can be found in a chest in the northernmost chamber (regardless of whether the quest is active or not).
