Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
A new opportunity (and new risk) has arisen for Herrius Thimistrel's coup attempt. Prince Enman Septim has arrived in the city, making any move against the Queen risky, for - as Herrius puts it - the Imperial Legion would be significantly more likely to intervene if the Emperor's son was at risk. Still, Herrius sees this as a chance to strike a deal with Imperial power, and wants you to speak to the prince and get him on side. He suggests that you offer the prince the protection of the Vampyrum Order in exchange for him distracting the eyes of Cyrodiil from Anvil long enough for Herrius to seize and consolidate power.
Herrius asks that you go the Saint Amiel Officers' Club to speak to the prince. It's in the Garden Quarter of Anvil, so head there. Prince Enman Septim is inside, flanked by two bodyguards. Talk to him about himself. He'll ask you to keep things short. Don't - directly offering him protection just offends him (and his impressively armed guards), and he's irked by political topics too. Instead, raise his disposition to 50+ and ask him how he finds Anvil, before enquiring why he isn't staying at The Abecette. This provides you the opening you need to convey Herrius' offer of protection without Enman taking offense. He'll ask that you prove your abilities first though. Apparently a shady-looking Nord has got him on edge, and he wants you to to eliminate him if he proves to be a threat.
Enman saw the Nord at the Abecette casino, so go there and ask around. You'll be pointed to the fight pit area of the casino, which is accessible via the Inner Hall. The person to speak to in the Fight Pit is Filhallil, who (with 60+ disposition) will identify the Nord - a man named Slaffid Somber-Cleaver. He'll point you to his home in the Albatross Apartments in Little Arenthia. Go there to search it - the apartment block is at the canal's east end. You'll need a means of unlocking the level 60 locked door to Slaffid's apartment.
Once inside, prepare for an ambush. Slaffid is unhappy at your entry and will assault you with a cleaver that inflicts a Blind effect on hit. A Note for Slaffid on his body implies that he was indeed an assassin out to get Enman. Return to the prince and let him know. He agrees to uphold his end of the deal, allowing you to return to Herrius to relay the good news.
