Rename Page[edit]

In order to create a new disambiguation page named "Whitestrake's Mayhem" (which will help point users to the many Whitestrake's pages), this current page must first be renamed "Whitestrake's Mayhem (event)." Solomon1972 (talk) 15:27, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

What pages would be as relevant as the main event page? -- SarthesArai Talk 15:39, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
If you check out the list I placed on the event hubs disambiguation page here, you'll see all the pages that have it in their name. When a user searches, they can't find everything quickly without a basic "whitestrake's mayhem" disambiguation, since they don't know the specific page titles of all these pages. I still think that he event is the most important of the Whitestrake's Mayhems. What we can do is a "This page is about the Event. For other uses, see Whitestrakes Mayhem (disambiguation)", where Whitestrakes Mayhem (disambiguation) is what you currently have at Online:Whitestrake's Mayhem Celebration. -- SarthesArai Talk 18:53, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
So it's like a mini-disambiguation at the top of the page. That works, too. I remember someone complaining about those types of notes at the top of the page. Hopefully your top-of-the-page solution will be acceptable. I'll wait to see if anyone else chimes in. -Solomon1972
I was trying to find any recent disambiguation precedence discussion, but was unsuccessful. I would agree that the Event would take precedence over the Quest, but those are the only two pages called "Whitestrake's Mayhem", so I don't really see the need for a disambiguation page at all. Anything else relevant, like the Event Hubs, can be listed on the Event page itself. --Enodoc (talk) 19:24, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

() The biggest problems I'm running into (and which I'm trying to fix) are: (1) consistency across all event hubs, to include the "all hubs" page, and (2) the searchability factor, which is to say, how easy is it for users to find information about the various facets of the events, their hubs, locations, quests, etc. With the need to have separate hub pages at each location (see my concerns at Olyve's Brewery, Olyve's Brewery (Auridon), Olyve's Brewery (Glenumbra), and Olyve's Brewery (Stonefalls)) to make the pages and maps and searching options line up, we need to improve standardization. I'm glad to clean them all up, but we just really need to make them all consistent. Considering the high number of similarly named pages (such as this), I think a disambiguation is warranted. It took me quite some time to chase down the proper page title searches to find all the various pages involved. If a less-familiar user tries to find something, with only a thought like "Umm, I think it was called x" to go on, they may easily become frustrated. I count myself in the "I'm still learning this ESO game and this UESP website" crowd, as I often find it difficult to find something on the first try. Solomon1972 (talk) 20:02, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

Just for one example, for the Jester's Festival, there's an event, a quest, an Auridon hub, a Glenumbra hub, a Stonefalls hub, a hat collection, an invitation scroll, a joke popper, and a furnishing. All of them start with "Jester's Festival." If a user tries searching "Jester's Festival," they should be pointed straight to a disambiguation page simply called "Jester's Festival," with links pointing them to the "(event)" page, the "(quest)" page, etc. Solomon1972 (talk) 20:33, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
IMO everything related to the event should be on the event page, it doesn't need to be anywhere else. --Enodoc (talk) 18:25, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
