Staff Guardian

The Staff Guardian is a mysterious ice construct who can be found in Coral Cavern in the Coral Aerie. It will appear once the Arcane Ward is dispelled.

It is one of the guardians keeping Z'Baza locked away in the Coral Aerie, and one of three optional bosses that can be fought.

Skills and Abilities[edit]

Staff Strike
A basic melee attack dealing moderate physical damage.
Staff Flick
A basic all distance attack dealing moderate flame damage.
Flame Beam
The guardian points its staff at you and shoots you with fire, dealing high flame damage.
Pulsing Orbs
At the start of the fight, the guardian fills three quarter of the arena with lingering orbs that pulse with energy, indicated by large overlapping circular AoEs, dealing continuous high magical damage. At 75%/50%/25% health, the guardian teleports away to the outer edge of the arena, causing the lingering orbs to be dismissed. It will then place orbs again, this time all over the arena, leaving only a safe spot under where it is standing.

Dialogue[edit]

Once the Arcane Ward is dispelled, the Staff Guardian will appear and address you, it's voice sounding artifical:

Staff Guardian: "Inhibitor wards lifted. Activating final seal."
Staff Guardian: "Condition met. Trial by combat initiated."

During combat:

Staff Guardian: "Anaylsis is at two thirds efficiency. Exhuming protocols."

If the group is wiped:

Staff Guardian: "Trial failed. Wardening recommenced."
