Dialogue[edit]
As you approach, you'll hear him acknowledge you, "First they beat me bloody, then the little goats come to play …."
Speak to him to begin the quest.
- "Outsiders! Sniffing around our valley like hungry little goats. But this is Osh Ornim land, little goat. Iron Orc land!
Away, little goat, or Lashburr will use its bones to pick our—argh! Flint and blood, don't make me yell. It hurts too much." - What happened to you?
- "The little goat asks questions but it is not in its place to speak to an Iron Orc like that. Sometimes the knife doesn't choose the hand it winds up in or so the elders say.
Will the little goat be my hand? Strike blood for blood in Lashburr's name?" - You're an Iron Orc and you're asking for my help?
- "It understands! The Scaled Court invades our valley. Tricks our chief with false promises. And it's all because of the liar, Agganor!
Burn their standards. Kill Agganor and mount his helmet on a pike. Do this, little goat, and the stones will sing!" - All right. I'll burn the Scaled Court standards and mount Agganor's helmet on a pike.
You can ask him some questions before doing as he asks.
- "Little goat is still here? Why? Little goat has work to do! Don't come back until the task is done!"
- Can I ask you a few questions?
- "Little goat keeps talking while that grelnim's head is still attached to his shoulders!
Oh, very well, little goat. Ask its questions." - What happened to you?
- "I was stripped of my rank, beaten, and banished from the clan. And it was all because of the lies that Agganor told to Chief Braadoth.
The rocks warned me, but I didn't listen. And now Lashburr is shaman no more." - What did Agganor do?
- "The young tusk convinced our goltragga—our chief—that the rocks welcomed the snake-herders. He filled Braadoth's ears with a murim's greed and turned our chief against me.
It wasn't long before I was sentenced to the death of sun and feathers." - The death of sun and feathers?
- "Does the little goat know nothing? Lashburr was nailed to the stone and cut once for each of the ten iron oaths. Then the sun burned and the crows gathered—a proper death for liars and traitors.
For a faithful shaman? Not so much." - How did you escape?
- "The rock provides. I killed two tribe mates. Two Ornim for a chance at crunzarga—revenge.
Now go, little goat. Feed Agganor's blood to the stones in Lashburr's name!"
- "I was stripped of my rank, beaten, and banished from the clan. And it was all because of the lies that Agganor told to Chief Braadoth.
- What does the Scaled Court have to do with all this?
- "Everything, little goat! Everything!
The Scaled Court marched into our valley. Honeyed words dripped from their tongues, but it was really venom! They poisoned our chief with their lies and their promises. And when I objected, I was cast out!" - Why does the Scaled Court want to ally with the Iron Orcs?
- "Why wouldn't they? We are strong. We know the secret ways of body ink and metal. And the snake-herder's leader, Regent Cassipia, has plans for what the Iron Orcs can provide.
They even gave Braadoth a seat at their table." - A seat at their table?
- "They gave our chief one of their funny snake names. Made him a leader in the Scaled Court. All so the Iron Orcs would follow the Serpent's orders.
Now Chief Braadoth is the Ophidian Exarch of Undulating Destruction … and Lashburr is nothing."
Return to him when the task is done.
