Alderdon is a High Elf Clavicus Vile cultist who gets unceremoniously killed by his master, along with other worshippers, and his body is used as a vessel for Clavicus Vile to speak through.

When you arrive in the vaults during the related quest, you'll witness Alderdon crying for lenience before Vile kills him:
