Renee Geonette

Renee Geonette is an Imperial commoner living in the Imperial City's Temple District with her husband, Salomon Geonette.

Renee is clearly very devoted to her husband, as she spends most of her days faithfully by his side. Renee never sleeps, but instead keeps a watchful vigil over Salomon as he sleeps from 11pm to 6am and then follows him downstairs when he eats his breakfast from 6am to 8am. Salomon and her routine then depends on the day of the week. On Tirdas and Turdas, she accompanies him to the Market District to wander around for four hours until noon, before they both head home for the rest of the day. On Morndas, Middas and Fredas she stays home with him until noon, when they head to the Arboretum to relax for six hours, before heading back home at 6pm. On Sundas, she joins Salomon for morning worship at the Temple of the One from 8am to midday. At all other times, she wanders around the house with Salomon until his bedtime at 11pm, including all day on Loredas. So devoted is Renee that she will also follow Salomon on his two-day trip to Bruma between the 8th and 10th of every month.

If Salomon is dead, her routine will still closely resemble her previous life. She will now start sleeping from 10pm to 6am each night, and eating a two-hour breakfast until 8am. On Morndas, Middas and Fredas she will now head to Arboretum for a stroll between 2pm and 5pm, whereas on Tirdas and Turdas she will instead be found in the Market District between 8am and 12pm. Meanwhile on Sundas she will attend worship at the Temple of the One from 8am to midday. At all other times, she will wander around the house, including all day on Loredas.

She does retain some semblance of an independent life, however, as at midnight on the 27th of each month she leaves her husband to go visit her friend Mirabelle Monet in Anvil, as long as the latter is alive. After setting off in the middle of the night, she crosses the Talos Bridge and heads south on the Red Ring Road before finally heading west on the Gold Road. She walks past the famous vineyards near Skingrad after thirteen hours of traveling and finally reaches Anvil around 1am on the 28th after just over a full day's travel. She first heads to The Flowing Bowl, where she will relax until 10am, when she instead heads over to The Fo'c's'le to see Mirabelle. She stays there until 6pm before heading back to The Flowing Bowl, and will repeat the visit the next day. At 2am on the 30th she will leave the inn and start the long journey back home.

Renee wears a set of middle-class clothing: a burgundy linen shirt, burgundy linens and a pair of pigskin shoes. She carries her house key and a small amount of gold.

Dialogue[edit]

Speaking to Renee for the first time will have her greet you somewhat solemnly by saying;

"Renee Geonette. My husband, Salomon, has a court commission to compose a symphony."

Asking her about the Imperial City will have her explain that her husband was to compose a symphony for the late emperor, but as her husband will explain if you speak to him, the commission is put on hiatus due to the assassination;

Imperial City
"It's so sad. Salomon was to compose a symphony for Uriel Septim, to be performed for the whole city in the Arena."

Notes[edit]

  • Renee was also intended to play a role in the unfinished Imperial Express quest: at midday on the 5th of each month, as long as Talasma is still alive, she will head to the Black Horse Courier and stay there for a brief moment before resuming her usual schedule.
