Lord Lovidicus is an Imperial noble and the vampire father of the Gray Prince. You will confront and kill him during the Gray Prince's mission to unlock his past. He does not exist in the game prior to the related quest, when he will emerge in Crowhaven, a fort northwest of Anvil.
He is equipped with a dagger made of the best material you can get at your level and an additional iron dagger. He wears a pair of sack cloth pants and a leveled piece of jewelry. He also carries a considerable amount of gold. As a vampire, Lovidicus possesses all the relevant abilities.

Quest-Related Dialogue[edit]
When asked about his nickname, Arena grand champion Agronak gro-Malog will fill you in on Lovidicus's story:
- "I grew up here in the Imperial City, but I was born elsewhere. My mother was a servant in the employ of Lord Lovidicus, and resided at his fortress. Lady Lovidicus was a shrew of a woman. The Lord and my mother grew close, and ultimately fell in love. I was the result of their union. When the Lady learned of my birth she was furious, and threatened to kill both my mother and me. So we fled, leaving my claim to nobility behind."
In realty, the true story is somewhat different. After having walked Tamriel as a vampire for 200 years, Lord Lovidicus fell in love with his Orc servant, Luktuv. After she became pregnant he finally decided to tell his beloved the truth, but this led to her imprisoning him in Crowhaven and running away with their unborn child.
Having now spent many decades in the depths of the fort, without feeding, Lord Lovidicus will wander around in a state of insanity in the southern part of the first zone, all day and night, without ever eating or sleeping, despite the presence of an upper-class bed and plenty of food. He is so eager to feed that he will attack you on sight.
It is possible to yield to Lord Lovidicus but the respite is short-lived. He will say:
- "Release! Sweet Release! After all these years, these decades, I am finally free! And you! So... so fresh! I must feed! I must feed! Agghhhhh!"
He will then resume combat. He also has unique combat dialogue, saying:
- "So hungry! Aggghhh!"
- "I have not eaten in decades! You will be my feast! Aggghhh!"
- "Food!"
Once you return from Crowhaven with his father's journal, Agronak will be horrified by the truth:
- "Now let me see what this Journal says! Hmm... Interesting... But... I... I... Wait... Can this be? But... By Shinji, I'm the son of a vampire! I'm no "Gray Prince!" I'm the spawn of evil! I thought my father was a nobleman, not some blood-sucking monster! I... I can't... All a lie! A lie..."
Bugs[edit]
- Despite being a vampire, he does not leave vampire dust on his corpse.
The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 2.1.0, fixes this bug.
- You also cannot contract Porphyric Hemophilia from fighting him.
The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 3.1.0, fixes this bug.
- If Lord Lovidicus is spared and spoken to after the associated quest is over, then all special dialogue will be removed and he will have standard dialogue and greetings.
