Bawnwatch Camp

Bawnwatch Camp is a campsite southeast of Bravil (quest-related).

It is north of the Ayleid ruin Bawn, on a small island in Niben Bay connected to the mainland via a wooden bridge. The site consists of a tent with a bedroll and an unlit campfire with an empty cooking pot; a chest containing one or two random healing potions is in front of the two rocks just west of the camp. Although the camp itself is deserted, the small island is inhabited by one or two mud crabs. The tent is nestled beneath the branches of a weeping willow, but the only harvestable flora on the island is a Nirnroot plant behind the rocks to the east. The view is quite impressive on a clear day; the city of Bravil can be seen in its entirety, along with the shore of the bay across the water. If the Shivering Isles expansion is installed, the strange island with an equally strange door is visible to the north in the middle of the bay.

The Forlorn Watchman at the camp

While seemingly unremarkable, the camp features another attraction, one infamous in Bravil. According to the local residents, a ghost appears every evening and wanders the shore of the bay. Local innkeeper Gilgondorin will fill you in on the details and mark the camp on your map, saying: "I don't like talking about the dead like they're some kind of tourist attraction, but that spirit has been making his ghostly journey for years now. We've learned to just accept that he's there. Every night, sure as clockwork, he appears at Bawnwatch Camp at 8 on the shore of Niben Bay. He's never harmed anyone, but most people give him a wide berth." Indeed, the Forlorn Watchman will appear at the camp at 8pm, whispering "Please...", an obvious cry for help. Following him will lead you to great treasure during the related quest. After the quest is complete, the ghost will no longer appear.
