Page Split[edit]

I think it's time this page finally be split up. I'm thinking Generic Magic Armor, Generic Magic Clothing, and Generic Magic Jewelry ought to do the trick. Anybody have any thoughts? –Eshetalk 21:17, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't think this page needs it. It's only 48K, which is much smaller than several other pages. I'm not going to oppose a split, but it seems like a lot of work for not much gain. –rpehTCE 12:21, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Are there any more thoughts on this split? At the moment it looks like there's no consensus to split. If there's nothing else in a week, I'll take the tag off. –rpehTCE 15:58, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
I would kind of still like to go ahead with the split. I see it more as an ease of finding things issue than a page loading issue. Although the page size isn't huge, the amount of information is still a little overwhelming. –Eshetalk 18:34, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)If it's still open for disscussion, I'm in support of Eshe's three way split (Armor, Clothing, and Jewelry). The rings and amulets take up a huge amount of space, so adding them to the clothing article wouldn't make it that much easier to find the item you're looking for. Hm, I'm not really that keen on splitting either. Could we first try to reduce the size every record? Putting the item IDs and Cast when x entries into seperate columns might just do that, which would seriously reduce the length of the page. Not that I'd want to pinch your job ;), but this seems one of those task that can be done with an advanced replace tool (from a very useful editor named jEdit) rather than manual labour. Unless you insist, ofcourse ;) --Timenn-<talk> 14:52, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Well, I've just removed "Cast When Used" from the whole page, since it seems a little...unnecessary...and that seems to have shrunk the page considerably. Adding a separate column for ID is an option, but we would have to do the same thing for the rating column as well and I think we might be running a little wide if we do that. –Eshetalk 16:36, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

() Although this discussion is somewhat old, I thought it was worth pointing out that in fact we already have Morrowind:Generic Magic Armor and Morrowind:Generic Magic Clothing, both of which were created back in 2008. I think some decision needs to be made here, because the current situation with redundant articles is the worst option for long-term maintenance and accuracy. --NepheleTalk 18:33, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

I actually regularly use the UESP wiki and in planning out what Constant Effect items I want to Enchant from scratch, I find it's exceedingly annoying that there's no one page that shows all existing magic wearables in Morrowind. Not only that, there's no central page linking to all the different articles! That's lunacy! I only came across this page when searching for something unrelated. I'm strongly for keeping the article in one piece. There's no reason whatsoever for a split other than personal aesthetics, and a very good reason not to split: ease of use.
Although it's more difficult for maintenance, I fully support having multiple pages; one, like this, that shows all the equipment with the raw, base information (cost, enchantments, etc.) and section-by-section pages with more information (like where to find instanced copies).

The article states false[edit]

The Bone Guard belt summons a skeletal minion for 10 seconds, not for 60 seconds as stated. The correct enchantment values are: 35/7 — Unsigned comment by 87.197.191.35 (talk) on 11 November 2009

Flamemirror Robe[edit]

Is the flamemirror robe supposed to have an enchantment six times as long as the other "mirror" robes, or should it be 10 seconds? I cannot test this myelf right now. 216.82.142.13 23:58, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Glove of the horny fist[edit]

Glove of Sanguine Horny Fist is indeed constant effect. Left Glove of the Horny Fist and Left Glove of the Horny Fist are cast when used enchantments, but there are mods which change them. Lukish_ Tlk Cnt 20:51, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Ring of Vampire's Kiss[edit]

The article states the Ring of Vampire's Kiss absorbs Health 1-10 pts for 1 sec on Touch. So does the TES Construction Set. However, I've found this ring and, in fact, it absorbs health 1 to 10 pts on Self. Very embarrassing and useless as well as I don't get it how it is possible at all (no mod or changes were made to Morrowind .esm file. Ver. is 1.20). When I look at it in the CS, I see Self. I noticed also that the expansions add a similarly named ring which use Touch: ring_vampiric_unique Vampiric Ring. The enchantment that they both cast is different, "vampire's kiss_en" vs "vampire's touch". Note that the latter has a larger magnitude, and also absorb's fatigue. I'm finding this years later after noticing the same behavior. My Vampire's Kiss Ring does indeed cast on myself, even when standing directly in front of someone in Touch range.
If this has not been noticed due to others having it patched out, that would be helpful to include in footnotes somewhere.
If this is more widespread, then I think we need more confirmations from others before altering the ring's description. Chill fridge (talk) 20:32, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
I can confirm the bugged enchantment on that ring too. Ring of vampire's kiss cast absorb health on self instead of on touch. Despite the CS says it should cast on touch. Can confirm as well. Started a new vanilla character, gave myself the ring using the console, cast the spell, it casts on Self even when standing right in front of someone. This despite the ring's enchantment (vampire's kiss_en) being defined as "on Touch" in the CS. Very strange. I'll go ahead and note this on the item since there seems to be plenty of confirmation that this item is bugged in some strange way. — Wolfborn(Howl) 01:09, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
