The Strid River Valley was a settlement with a history involving Ayleid, Colovian, and Bosmer cultures. It was located in the West Weald, just downstream from Istirus Outpost, along the Strid River delta, south of Varen's Wall Gatehouse and north of Windshriek Strand of Malabal Tor.[1][2]
History[edit]
Little is known about the distant past of the Strid River Valley, but the presence of ancient Ayleid ruins suggests that it was once inhabited by the Ayleids before their downfall.[1]
Before 2E 582, the area was home to a Colovian village. After the Dawnwood ritual, Bosmeri settlers from Valenwood, following the Dawnway philosophy of King Nantharion Rayn, completely transformed the former Colovian settlement. However, shortly after the Daedric crisis tied to Ithelia, the Unseen, and the invasion of Glass Daedra from Mirrormoor, these same settlers were driven away, leaving behind a stunning desolation at the water's edge.[1][2]
As of 2E 582 the Circle of Champions began using the settlement to host dangerous gladiator battles to the death. Fighters from all three sides of the Alliance War came to the Strid River Valley battleground to fight for the glory of the Fire Drakes, Pit Daemons, and Storm Lords arena teams.[3]
