Lore:Scuttlebloom
The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
Scuttlebloom, also known as Scuttle Bloom is a type of plant native to the Black Marsh. Easily startled, scuttleblooms will retract their leg-like appendages and burrow into the ground when they sense danger, using this behavior as a means of protection. They produce a honey-like substance.[1][2] When harvested, it can briefly enhance one's mobility.[3] Some wild scuttleblooms, once captured, can gradually become friendly companions and cease to panic when approached.[2]
Some scuttleblooms have been kept in terrariums for display. Specimens in such a state have been encountered in Fargrave.[4]
