Gratia Arquitius was a legendary chef that lived during the time of the Interregnum known for her Colovian War Torte recipe, a robust yet lavish dessert designed to facilitate camaraderie among Imperials during their war marches.[1] Known ingredients include nutmeg, citrus,[1] but flour, carrots, frost mirriam, and honey have also been known to be used.[2] She elevated the dessert into the Molten War Torte by adding Rubyblossom Extract, a rare and robust sweetener once cultivated by Nibenese alchemists.[3] The final evolution to her confectionary creation was the White-Gold War Torte, achieved by adding rare Mourning Dew on a Molten War Torte.[4]

Her torte recipe was misplaced by her in the wilds of Cyrodiil, and subsequently utilized by the alliances participating in the Three Banners War.[5][2] The legacy of Gratia Arquitiu lasts much longer than the Interregnum of the Second Era. Urzhag-gro Larak, apprentice to the famous Gourmet, Balagog gro-Nolob, recounts in his book Tastes and Tales from Tamriel how sharing a Colovian War Torte helped connect him with two total strangers. Stuck in a cave in Skyrim duiring a blizzard, Urzhag sharing his torte with the strangers led to them joking and conversing like they had known each other for years, when earlier they had been suspicious of each other.[1]
