Listing of Items[edit]

Would it not be better to list items in sections Offensive, Defensive and Magic, then divide the non magic categories into one handed and two handed, then into quality (iron, steel etc.) The Magic category could split be into potions, offensive and defensive sections, then list the items by effect.

Probably. Problem is we don't have enough people (myself included) on ths site who know enough about Arena to do much good at organizing these pages. I reordered the chart on this page so that at least armor and weapons aren't all mixed together. But I have no idea what Crystals and Marks are, so I had to keep them separate. If you know a better way to arrange things, by all means do so. --TheRealLurlock Talk 16:04, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
Maybe we could separate the armor from the rings, belts etc. so we have armor and magical items separate Banquo 03:55, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
I've done that, but it would be good if someone with more knowlege of tables could add a one-handed and a two-handed section to the weapons (Katana is last one-handed weapon.) And also add in Body Armour and Shields sections to the Armour section (Buckler is first shield.) Banquo 04:42, 26 October 2008 (EDT)

Item Pages[edit]

Would it be good to add a general page for each item group listing the AR and weapon rating for each item, so that it resembles the Oblivion section item pages. Banquo 11:39, 21 November 2008 (EST)

Agreed. As the namespace for the items are already used, perhaps the pages could be divided into a section about general information, and a section on where to acquire them below. StoneFrog 10:40, 1 February 2009 (EST)

Request for Equipment Images[edit]

I overhauled this page and its subpages months and months ago, although Arena's simplicity has led to these articles being somewhat sparse. If anybody can get ahold of images of an assortment of weapons and shields, they could be arranged in a row or column next to the charts, just as a better visual indicator. StoneFrog 15:38, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

I've added a NeedsImage tag to the article, so it will appear in the category of articles needing images. It may take a while longer as fewer people have Arena, and taking screenshots is a bit more complicated. --Timenn-<talk> 10:25, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Which equiment actually *has* images? Besides the graphics of the own hero, there are no pictures of equipment in the entire game, unless I missed some options.

Marks[edit]

I just started playing the game (and making progress..) and have found myself in possession of "Marks" with "7 charges". It doesnt tell me what to do or how to use it, like, at all. That information should be here somewhere. Id put it myself but...I cant figure out how to make the things work! 74.128.56.194 04:45, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

If it's not on the page, it means nobody who has edited the wiki knows. Judging by the Marks page, it looks like there's a spell effect associated with this item but you need to discover what it is. Read Help:Contents to learn how to edit. rpeh •TCE 07:33, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Answer: magical items can be identified at any mages guild. Or by selling/buying back from vendor if gold is no issue.

Leveled?[edit]

Are the weapons and armour available in Arena based on your character's level like other Elder Scrolls games? RIM 19:37, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Great question- there are some classes and races that receive a bonus per level (ranger, wood elf, check class and race description for more) Otherwise the weapon and armor found in loot piles and on tier 1 mobs (lich, vampire, medusa) sometimes is enchanted. Also minotaurs drop all types of magic items. Otherwise loot from mobs seems static or from a small loot table. Loot tables from loot in estates/dungeons seems to have a higher chance of being made of better materials, im at level 20 and the highest grade armor piece ive found in the wild is mithril. The highest grade weapon was adamantium. Ive heard one claim of finding an ebony longsword in a loot pile.

Weirdly, my class seems to be able to identify armor type if its not enchanted, but not weapons. This could be a warrior specific effect. I.e. mithril helm drops and its identified. 'Longsword' in blue- adamantium, no spells or effects...

So heres hoping one day i get enchanted ebony in a loot pile or tier 1 drop! To finally answer the loot question

O.K. to List Unenchanted in Tables?[edit]

Is it o.k. to add Leather, Chainmail, and unenchanted Plate/standard gear to the tables or is the general consensus that this is unnecessary information? I was wondering because not every shop has a full suit of those armours for sale, so I figured that new players would like to know where they can get a full suit (as of now, I've only re-arranged the content in the Boots table). Besides, I figured that there weren't very many people playing this game, so it might not matter anyway (though I've absolutely no idea how of much bandwidth the wiki has, and therefore didn't want to stretch the limit). --Gandoril The Spell-Binder (talk) 00:52, 1 April 2015 (GMT)

"Complete Listing of " Items[edit]

Wasn't sure where to put this, but a general items page seems appropriate. I noticed we have pages like https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Arena:Maces which seem to be documenting what place sells what weapons, armor, etc. and for how much- but I went and checked a place claiming to have an Ebony Mace in Firewatch, Morrowind, and it did not. (Wait, materials aren't leveled, are they? That wouldn't be why it wasn't there, right?) Bushwhacker (talk) 05:34, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
