A secret island containing loot

The Spine Bridges are a series of nine old wooden bridges in the northwest corner of Stros M'Kai, reachable by a dirt road going north from the city. They extend across the beginning of the Spine, the shoals between the main island and the Isle of N'Gasta. They are in a severe state of disrepair; some planks break off when you first try to cross. At the end is the skeletal boatman, who takes you to the northeast dock on the Isle of N'Gasta for a small fee of 3 gold.

Sharks and deadly tentacle creatures patrol the water, hoping to eat any unfortunate adventurer. A secret island is south of the second and third bridges and contains four gold pouches, three health potions, and two strength potions. The only way to get there is to swim.

A sea serpent was originally planned for this area as a boss fight, but the creature was disabled from appearing and does not function correctly in combat.

See the related quest for a complete walkthrough of the area.

Notes[edit]

  • The Spine includes many more islands than what appears in the game. If you try to swim to where these islands would appear on the map of Stros M'Kai, there is nothing there. The Isle of N'Gasta is in a separate worldspace, so you cannot swim there either.
  • This location appears again in ESO as Rash Merchant's Plummet, with the first bridge being completely unusable.
