Faregyl[1] is a historical settlement in the southern Great Forest in the province of Cyrodiil. It is located around the central crossroad of the northern Green Road, between the Red Ring Road and Bravil, but has changed over the years. In the mid-Second Era, it was known as Castle Faregyl, a large keep surrounded by scattered clusters of floating welkynd stones[2] but from the late Third Era and onward, the Faregyl Inn sat on the crossroad.[3]

During the Interregnum, Castle Faregyl stood on the northeast side of the crossroad, between the Bloody Grasslands to the north and the Colovian Lowlands to the south. Surrounding it were its farm (northwest), lumber mill (southeast), mine (northeast), and a small lake west of the mine. It was part of the Transitus Network, which connected it to other keeps in central Cyrodiil. When the Alliance War occurred, Castle Faregyl sat in the middle of the Aldmeri Dominion's territory and it played a pivotal role in the war as it regularly changed hands.[2]

By the late Third Era, Faregyl Inn was located across the crossroad, north across from a wayshrine of Zenithar. In 3E 433, the Khajiit named Abhuki was its publican.[3] At the time, the famous traveling blade master, Alix Lencolia stopped in Faregyl Inn while he passed through Cyrodiil. Rumors of his stay circulated across the province and other aspiring blade warriors sought him out for master training.[4] Another Khajiit resident was S'jirra, who baked her famous, signature potato bread.[5] By 4E 201, S'jirra still lived in Faregyl Inn and her potato bread became famous beyond Cyrodiil. It was in such high demand in Skyrim that the Nords had adopted her recipe to compensate.[6]
